Monday 1. February 2010 Introduction into the practical consultancy work (Michael Dieterich)
Latest after the basic course the practical consultancy- and counseling work begins. For some everything is new, others bring along years of practical experience. The module day shall therefore one the one hand relieve the introduction into the consultancy work, on the other hand also supervise experienced practitioners, who have become equilibrated in their personal methods. For this practical things are addressed (for example “what should the space look like in which I work?”, “How do I start a conversation?”, “how can I keep the time (schedule)?” etc. Furthermore the use of the “clock” from the “General Psychotherapy and counseling” for the diagnostic and the consultancy plan is practiced and it is also shown how records for the supervision events can be constructed. Also, a (medical) history sheet/report and its evaluation for the practical work is presented.
The module day will be designed very practically and there will be enough time for questions.
Program for the seminar day
- How do I begin the practical consultancy work?
- Use of “clock” from the APS for diagnostic and consultancy plans
- Preparation for a presentation in the supervision
- Medical history sheet and its evaluation
- Further practical topics according to arrangement in the seminar

Elementary pedagogy (Jörg Dieterich)
The elementary pedagogy deals with the age group of the under-6.year old children. It is also described as early education, toddler pedadogy or preschool pedagogy. Besides the development psychological aspects, such as for example the early childhood development of thinking, feelings and motivations, here it is especially about the necessity of the so called “bonding”, which can be decisive for many later conflicts.
The course participants learn about methods of special observation of children and also pedagogic promotion possibilities and – limits.
It is a seminar for parents but also for co-workers in the children ministry in churches and the mediation of Biblical contents is also addressed.
Since the topic is very big there must be a containment/limitation for the module day. However it is possible to involve specific questions in a Q&A (Question & answer) session.
Program of the seminar day
- Eary childhood development
- Bonding theory – and practice
- Observation of infants
- Education approaches
- Parent work
- Further topics according to arrangement in the seminar

Depressions belong to the most common psychic disorders. Depending on the weighting one can assume that up to 25% of the Europeans are affected once throughout their life. There are different levels of intensity of depression and they develop for different reasons. Many of them can also be treated nonmedical. Most of the depressive people see the world around them as negative and hopeless. Also the faith life of Christians is also affected most of the time, therefore dealing with believing depressive people must happen very responsible. In the seminar chances and limits of treatment is shown.

Compulsive disorders (Michael Dieterich)
The compulsive neurosis is a psychic disorder, in which affected person repeats a specific action compulsively or cannot resist specific compulsive returning thoughts or imaginations.
The compulsive actions can be made up of counting specific things, locking doors or checking if one has locked up, etc. Compulsive thoughts can concern imaginations of a disaster, of the death of a beloved person, of accidents, of murder comments etc. Compulsive character is an nonspecific willingness - which includes the whole personality – for compulsive actions, exaggerated order, greed and envy, resentment and loveless exercise of power. Since compulsiv thoughts and actions mostly appear together, they are summarized under the term ´compulsive syndrome.
The compulsion becomes pathological when it becomes impossible for a person to behave appropriately. Often the thoughts are about death, suicide, etc. Extreme compulsive thinking can make a person almost completely incapable of viable/existence. One can be so overwhelmed by these constantly returning imaginations that one finds it almost impossible to concentrate on something else and is also not capable to influence the occurrence and the direction of the compulsive thoughts. In the seminar it will be shown where consultants, counselors and therapists can help – but also where they are given limits.
Program of the seminar day
- Several historical aspects of compulsive disorder
- Epidemiology, process and consequences
- First assumption about the “sense” of compulsions
- Biblical aspects of compulsive disorders
- Causes for compulsive disorders
- Forms of compulsive disorders

Paranormal Phenomenon (Michael Grossklaus)
Paranormal Phenomenon, often known through the word “Occultism”, are seen differently in Christian churches. There are groups in which almost every disorder is described as an “occult burden” and is then also exorcised. Others see not-clarified secrets, of which the natural-scientific solution is still open in such phenomenon.
In the Bible there are many examples of paranormal phenomenon, therefore we cannot avoid them in a natural-scientific way.
M. Grossklaus has dealt with this in detail in his master work. During this module day he reports of his results and gives counseling support.
Program of the seminar day
- Paranormal phenomenon and its epidemiology
- Psychic disorders and paranormal phenomenon
- Exorcism in the OT and NT and in church history
- A solution approach with a holistic view of humans
- Diagnostic of occult phenomenon
- Practical consequences for our churches
